This brightly painted butterfly has orange, pink, black, white, and blue marks on its wings, and a border of white and black. The best way to identify it is to look underneath the hind wings. Here, you will find two large eyespots against an olive-green background. This butterfly is fond of flowery, open, sunny spots, such as backyards, and streams. Caterpillars, black with yellow stripes and white spots, feed on evergreens.
