Be An Entomologist

An entomologist is a scientist that studies insects.  In our class we had the opportunity to become entomologists by studying a variety of insects. 

 Each child chose a bug to study and explored several questions:

1. How many legs and body parts. 2. Does it have antennae?
3. What it eats. 4. Where it likes to live?
5. Who it's enemies are. 6. How it protects itself.
7. How it is helpful to the earth. 8. Other interesting facts.

   To find answers to these questions, students found information in several places.  We had books from the school and public library, magazines such as Ranger Rick and Wild, and we found lots of helpful internet sites.  To see some of our final projects follow the link below.  To check out some of the great sites to find information on insects follow the research link below.
