Butterflies eat nectar. They get it from flowers. They use their long tongue to drink down into the flowers.

Butterflies have six legs. They have two antennae. They use their wings to fly all around.

Butterflies lay eggs. Out comes the caterpillar. The caterpillar eats and eats, then he goes into the chrysalis. Once he comes out of the chrysalis, he is a butterfly.

Butterflies could be big or little. They can be all the colors from the rainbow.

Butterflies eat leaves. They drink from a water. They eat something. Not hamburgers, those are too big. Ladybugs eat cookies. The cookies are heavy, not too heavy.

Butterfly’s tired. He wants to sleep, on his bed. He sleep on the ladybug bed. I have a little bed.

A butterfly has six legs and it can fly from place to place to place everywhere it wants to.

A butterfly can do lots of things and lots of other things as it flies from place to place.

They can fly upside down. They can do lots and lots and lots until they get tired.

They eat honey and they always always do good stuff. They are helpful bugs. They eat so much until they fly again.

Sometimes they have yellow wings. Sometimes blue and white, sometimes red and white, sometimes they have polka dots with rainbow stripes, sometimes all sorts of colors. Sometimes, they look like the flowers they land on.

They fly 50 miles. They keep flying until they fly 100 miles. They are tired and take a rest and then they fly again.

They are born in eggs. When they are big enough they hatch. And then they come into caterpillars. Then they make a chrysalis. When they are in the chrysalis, when they are ready to turn into a butterfly they turn into one. They are beautiful butterflies.
