The students this year just loved "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle. After watching the video "Eric Carle, Picture Writer", we decided to undertake our own Eric Carle Collage Project. One afternoon, we began wildly painting sheets of paper that we would use for our project. We made sure we used lots of different colors, and mixed them up into crazy patterns.

After these had dried, each student selected a page that they wished to work on. As you can see, they did an amazing job. One student actually spent over two hours ensuring that his caterpillar looked identical to the one in the book.
